Look Ahead is recruiting 3 compassionate and resilient Support Workers for our Islington Young People service. No experience or personal care needed, just the right values to help young people reach their goals.

You will provide night-time emotional and practical support, build trusting relationships, and help ensure safety and wellbeing. The role involves welfare checks, safeguarding, and responding to incidents while supporting individuals facing homelessness and care leavers.

• Ability to build positive relationships and maintain professional boundaries.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, professional and trusting relationships with young people.

• Carry out regular welfare and health and safety checks in accordance with service procedures.

£ 30,784.00 per annum, working 40 hours per week.

The Islington Young People's Assessment Centre is a 24-hour staffed supported housing service that provides accommodation and support for young people leaving care, unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, young people experiencing homelessness, and those at risk of homelessness.

What you'll do:

Is passionate about supporting young people to achieve their goals and aspirations.

Understands the challenges faced by care leavers, young people experiencing homelessness and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.

What you'll bring:

Essential

• Experience supporting young people, vulnerable adults or individuals with support needs, either in a professional or voluntary capacity.
• Ability to build positive relationships and maintain professional boundaries.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work waking night shifts and respond effectively to emergencies.

Desirable

• Experience working within supported housing, homelessness, mental health, care leaver or young people's services.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice and risk management.
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification.
