Job summary

Embracecare in Preston is seeking a Waking Night Support Worker to provide care for children with Autism and complex needs. You'll ensure safety and welfare at night, contributing to a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in care or working with children is helpful but not essential.
  • A calm, patient and reliable approach, especially during unsettled nights.
  • Willingness to work towards a Level 3 Children’s Residential qualification.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding or willingness to learn.
  • Resilience, empathy and a genuine desire to support young people.
  • Ability to remain alert, focused and supportive throughout waking night shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Promote safety, stability and wellbeing for children throughout the night.
  • Provide reassurance, supervision and support as needed.
  • Follow care plans and safeguarding procedures.
  • Maintain nighttime routines and support transitions.
  • Complete night-time reporting and logs.
  • Respond appropriately to incidents and overnight challenges.

Embrace Care is recruiting full-timeWaking Night Support Workersto join our Ofsted-regulated children’s residential homes in Preston, supporting children and young people with Autism, ADHD, Learning Disabilities and complex needs.

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in creating calm, safe and nurturing environments overnight. You will provide reassurance, maintain routines, manage incidents appropriately and ensure each child’s emotional and physical needs are met during the night.
