Care Dorset Limited is hiring a Support Worker for Transition Services in Weymouth. You will assist young adults with learning disabilities or autism, helping them move to independent living, develop practical life skills, manage finances, and navigate transitions with emotional support.
Role involves sleep-ins and varied shifts; full training provided, driver license desirable but not required; generous leave and development opportunities exist within Care Dorset.
This role will form part of our established Supported Living Transition services,which supports young adults with a learning disability and/or autism who aremoving from the family home into their own accommodation. The service focuseson enabling individuals to develop the skills, confidence and resiliencerequired to live as independently as possible.
Support works provide person-centred support across all aspects of dailyliving. This includes developing practical life skills such as meal planning,shopping and cooking, as well as supporting individuals to understand financesand budgeting. The role also involves providing emotional support and guidanceto help individuals navigate the challenges and transitions associated with increasedindependence.
About you:
Previous experience as a support worker or in a similar role is preferred but not essential as training and ongoing support will be provided.
