We would like you to join us as a Trainer.

  • Site based at our service in Stoke Mandeville with some remote working.
  • Salary: £30,000.
  • 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday, normally 9am–5.30pm. Some flexibility may be discussed where operationally possible.
  • Travel may be required to other venues, occasionally.

Ready to take the next step in your care career?

Do you have hands-on experience in Support Work and enjoy supporting others to learn and develop? Would you like to use your experience in a new role where you can make a difference to the quality of care delivered across multiple services?

Active Care Group is looking for a confident, enthusiastic Support Worker Trainer to join our Learning & Development team, covering Stoke Mandeville and surrounding areas. This is a Site based role, with occasional travel to other locations within an approximate 100-mile radius of the Stoke Mandeville base. Overnight stays may be required.

  • Should travel be required to other venues, occasionally, travel expenses will be reimbursed.
  • If there is the occasional need to travel to another venue and stay overnight, accommodation and food will be reimbursed in line the company policy.

What will you be doing?

You’ll help our care teams develop the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to support people with complex care needs safely and effectively.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering mandatory inductions, refresher training and specialist training.
  • Assessing colleagues' practical skills and competence.
  • Supporting care staff to maintain their knowledge and deliver high-quality care.
  • Adapting your presentation and teaching style to suit different learners.
  • Working alongside experienced trainers as you develop your own skills and progress towards delivering sessions independently.
  • You’ll follow a structured development pathway, starting by observing training sessions, progressing to co-delivering courses and, once you’re ready, leading training yourself.

What makes this opportunity different?

  • Put your frontline experience to use in a role focused on developing others and improving care standards.
  • Whether you already hold a relevant teaching, assessing or specialist training qualification, or need to work towards one, we’ll support your development.
  • Help colleagues gain the confidence and competence to deliver outstanding care to people with complex needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced support worker or care professional to move into training. You don’t need to be an established trainer already: we’ll support you to develop your teaching skills, work towards relevant qualifications and build the confidence to deliver training independently.
