Job summary

Snap Care is seeking a dedicated Support Worker in Tunbridge Wells to assist Andrew, a lively 5-year-old with cerebral palsy, at home and in community settings. The role starts ASAP and offers term-time and holiday shifts, with weekend coverage and a driving requirement for travel to the family home.

Experience with children with additional needs is essential; training will be provided for disability-specific support.

• Desirable: experience supporting a child with a physical disability; full training will be provided.
• Weekend availability is required; driver with own car preferred; WAV available on duty.

Responsibilities

• Support Andrew, a 5-year-old with cerebral palsy, at home and in the community.
• Help him access meaningful activities and build independence.
• Provide care in term time, school holidays, and on weekends as scheduled.

• Job Title: Support Worker
• Pay: £18.50 gross per hour weekdays | £20.00 gross per hour weekends
• Location: Tunbridge Wells, TN3
• Start Date: ASAP
• Hours and Days of Work: Term Time: Tuesday and Wednesday, 2.30pm to 8.30pm. (Two alternative weekday afternoons can be mutually agreed if preferred.) Weekend: One weekend shift per week, either: Saturday, 9.30am to 3.30pm; or Sunday, 8.30am to 2.30pm. School Holidays: Tuesday and Wednesday, 10.30am to 8.30pm, plus one weekend shift as above.
• Essential Experience: Experience supporting children with additional needs.
• Desirable: Experience supporting a child with a physical disability would be beneficial, but is not essential as full training will be provided.
• Driver Required: Yes, own car required to travel to and from the family home. Automatic WAV available for use on duty
• Family Pets: None

Andrew, 5, is fun-loving, inquisitive and active, with a love of swimming, reading, music, arts and crafts, imaginative play and exploring new experiences. He has cerebral palsy, which impacts his mobility and everyday functioning, and uses a wheelchair and walker.
