Job summary

GOV's States of Guernsey invites applications for a Support Worker in the Short Breaks Service based at The Croft. The role supports children with learning disabilities in a 7-bed home and in community settings, delivering high-quality care and promoting dignity and rights.

The post involves both team-based and independent work, with enhanced pay for unsocial hours and an annual bonus for staff in post by January 31. An 8-year Long Term Employment Permit is available for eligible candidates.

Responsibilities

• Support children with learning disabilities in the 7-bed short breaks home and in outreach at children’s homes and local community.
• Deliver and maintain a high level of care, identifying and meeting the wellbeing needs of children.
• Work as part of a team and independently, managing workload and ensuring quality care without constant supervision.
• Promote an Ordinary Life Principles approach, maintaining a homely environment and respecting children's dignity and rights.
