Job summary

Encompass in Hawick is seeking a compassionate care assistant to support an elderly gentleman at home with morning personal care, and a twice-weekly shower. You will help ensure safety, assist with meals, and monitor hydration.

The role includes a 45-minute morning visit every day and a 15-minute teatime visit on 3–4 days. A salary of £14.05 per hour, 5.6 weeks paid leave pro rata, 6-month probation, and PVG scheme membership are included.

An elderly gentleman living at home in Hawick, looking for someone to assist and support him with morning personal care tasks, and assist with a shower twice a week too. Meal support 3- 4 times a week is also required to ensure he has sufficient food and fluid intake throughout the week as his family help at other times. The role would be perfect for someone who is patient, friendly, and understanding to allow time to mobilise safely and slowly as the gentleman can become extremely breathless due to COPD.

Terms:

• Hours of work:

Morning support (45 mins per day) 7 days a week

Teatime Visit (15 mins per day) 3- 4 days – to be discussed with client

• £14.05 per hour.
• Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata
• Probationary period of 6 months
• Post subject to references and PVG scheme membership
