Job summary

Encompass Hawick is seeking a compassionate support worker to assist a gentleman client for a few hours each week, promoting independence at home and in the community, including shopping, meal planning and budgeting.

Typical duties include shower support and personal care, safety checks, accompanying to appointments and helping with outings. Experience is not essential; PVG scheme membership and references required; 6‑month probation, 5.6 weeks leave pro rata, pay £14.05 per hour.

Job description

A gentleman client in Hawick looking for some support for a few hours a week to help promote their independence and support with shopping, meal planning and budgeting. Assistance with showering support also to ensure safety getting in and out and to provide confidence with this task. Help with getting out and about in the community is another task to help enhance and promote independence and confidence going forward too, and support to appointments in the town too.

Terms

• Hours per week: 4.50 Hours
• Days and hours schedule to be discussed with potential applicants
• £14.05 per hour.
• Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata
• Probationary period of 6 months
• Post subject to references and PVG scheme membership
