Sense Scotland is recruiting a Waking Night Support Worker for the Bellahouston area in Glasgow, joining our Night Shift Team. You will support two individuals in their own homes, delivering care within our 24-hour housing support services and focusing on well-being, safety, and meaningful nightly routines.

As part of a dedicated team, you will help manage complex needs and learning disabilities, ensuring a calm night environment, accurate record-keeping, and compassionate personal care.

About the service

We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our Night Shift Team based in the Bellahouston area of Glasgow. This role involves providing night time support to 2 individuals who reside in their own homes, fostering an environment that promotes their well‑being.


Our Bellahouston service offers an engaging and dynamic work environment. We are committed to offering a wide variety of stimulating activities for the people we support. We recognise that life is about more than just support and care – we prioritise enjoyment, fulfilment, and meaningful experiences. Each day brings unique experiences as we inspire those we support to enjoy various activities like swimming, cooking, dining out, socialising, watching films, hitting the gym, or assisting with holiday plans.


At the core of our approach is effective communication rooted in values, tailoring our support to meet the unique needs of the people we support. As a support practitioner, your role involves delivering assistance in our 24-hour housing support services, catering to individuals with diverse and complex support requirements, including those who may not communicate verbally.


About the role

At Sense Scotland, we believe that night-time care is just as important as daytime support. Our Waking Night Support Team plays a vital role in ensuring that the people we support feel safe, comfortable, and valued throughout the night.


As a Waking Night Support Worker, you’ll be an integral part of a dedicated team, working to create a calm and reassuring environment where individuals with complex needs and learning disabilities can rest peacefully and wake up feeling secure, refreshed, and well cared for. This role is key in maintaining the safety and well‑being of the people we support during the night.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Conducting regular \"keeping safe\" checks to ensure well-being.

  • Supporting individuals with evening and morning routines.

  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

  • Accurately updating support plans, incident logs, and health & safety records.

  • Providing personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration.

We provide full training, induction, and work-shadowing to set you up for success.


Shift details:

Shifts are 8 PM - 8 AM on a rolling rota, designed to support work-life balance. Please note; flexibility is required whereby occasional day shift working will be mandatory for training and team building.
