Job Description:

Full time, 36 hours nights

Night shift from 19:30 to 8:00, including weekends.

A night enhancement of £1.50 per hour applies from 8pm to 7am, Monday to Sunday (not applicable to sleep-ins). A weekend day enhancement of £2.00 per hour is paid from 7am to 8pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Birnbeck House is home for up to 13 adults with complex learning disabilities.

Experience as a Care Assistant, Support Worker, or similar is desirable but not essential. We provide excellent training and induction programs for all new staff!

As a Support Worker with Leonard Cheshire, you will be part of a fantastic team. Your duties may include:

  • Assisting with daily tasks such as personal care, medication, and mealtimes.
  • Escorting and supporting residents in and around the service, at external events, and appointments.
  • Supporting a Person-Centred approach, encouraging independence, and helping residents achieve their individual goals.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.

Requirements:
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and creativity in working with customers and their families.
  • Personal care experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to work under pressure and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work within the rostered hours and participate in an on-call rota if required.
