Job summary

HealthCare NZ is seeking Casual Support Workers to assist clients in Nelson with daily living and personal goals during the Holiday period. You will provide practical and emotional support within clients’ homes and communities, following care plans and contributing to a person-centered approach.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, a caring attitude, and reliable transport. Availability Nov–Feb is required, and NZ driver’s licences are preferred.

• Nov to Feb availability is a must.
• Previous healthcare or care-giving experience would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Healthcare qualifications are advantageous.
• Most positions require a full NZ drivers' licence and your own reliable transport.

What does a Support Worker do?

As part of a wider team, you will assist our clients to live as independently as possible, within their homes and community. You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support. Responsibilities can be varied and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all of the below:

• Meal preparation
• Community outings and integration
• Giving medication
• Personal cares (showering, toileting etc)
• Home management
