Headway Birmingham & Solihull is recruiting Support Workers on 35 hours per week to assist clients with acquired brain injuries in daily activities and community participation.

The role requires a car owner/driver and the ability to obtain business insurance. Training and DBS checks are provided, with a comprehensive induction and ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care is required.
• 12 months of Brain Injury experience is preferred.
• Car owner/driver is required and willing to obtain business insurance.

Responsibilities

• Support clients with an acquired brain injury to attend appointments and access education/voluntary work.
• Assist with public transport training, social and leisure activities, and day-to-day living skills at home and in the community.
• Provide personal care as needed.
• Maintain PPE as required and ensure client safety.

Our pay scale starts at the real living wage of £13.11ph for Support Workers who are qualified to NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care with 12 months of Brain Injury experience and also includes six levels of pay up to £13.57ph.

We are looking to recruit 2 x enthusiastic, friendly, positive, caring, self-motivated individuals with support worker experience for 35 hours per week each, who have the drive, personality and reliability to make a real difference to our clients’ lives.Your role will involve supporting clients with an acquired brain injury to attend appointments, public transport training, accessing education and voluntary work, social and leisure activities, shopping in the community and assist with day to day living skills in their homes. Minimum personal care may be required.Support Workers wear all appropriate PPE including masks when required to by clients.Applicants will need to be a Car Driver / Owner who are willing to obtain business insurance and have experience of working with disabilities, have, or be willing to gain a Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Adult Care.Experience of working with brain injury desirable.Closing Date: Thursday 15th October 2026, 4pmLocation: Birmingham, West Midlands
