Job summary

Mencap in Barnsley is hiring Support Workers to provide vital personal care and compassionate support to people with learning disabilities. The role covers a range of duties from assisting daily living and budgeting to helping individuals participate in community activities, using digital records to track progress.

Qualifications

• Experience working with people with learning disabilities is desirable.
• Clear communication and interpersonal skills essential.
• Ability to support individuals with daily living tasks and personal care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality support to people with learning disabilities to improve independence and wellbeing.
• Assist with personal care, daily living tasks and meal preparation.
• Support budgeting, paying bills, housework, appointments and community activities.
• Promote social inclusion and help build positive relationships.
• Record progress daily using digital documentation.
