Job summary

Edgeview Homes is seeking an enthusiastic support worker for a maternity cover contract up to 13 months. The role offers up to 40 hours per week with shifts between 08:00 and 21:00, plus four weeks annual leave and pension benefits.

Training and QCF qualifications are provided, with opportunities to progress toward nursing qualifications via the nurse associate scheme. You will support service users with daily tasks, transport to appointments if licensed, and contribute to a family-like,

Responsibilities

  • Carry out duties as required under the direction of the Manager/Shift Leader.
  • Meet each service user’s individual needs daily, including transporting to appointments if licensed to drive.
  • Support service user’s priority needs and complete daily timetables.
  • Facilitate involvement in daily tasks (cleaning, laundry, meals).
  • Provide basic care for people with physical illness.
  • Carry out personal care as part of the role where needed.
  • Report client issues to the Manager.
  • Participate in service users’ leisure activities at home and in the community.
  • Act as Key-Worker for identified service users when designated.
  • Advocate on behalf of service users where appropriate.
  • Work flexible hours to meet needs.
  • Participate in support planning processes.
  • Undertake additional duties as required by the Company.
  • To work in accordance with Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintain house upkeep and communicate information clearly.
  • Report hazards to the Manager per Health & Safety.
  • Undertake staff training and Safe handling of Medication.
  • Participate in Staff Appraisal Scheme.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Present a positive image to neighbours and the public.

We are looking for an enthusiastic support worker to join us on a maternity cover contract for up to 13 months
Salary and benefits
  • £12.75per hour (and upwards depending on experience)
  • Shift times vary with great flexibility - times between 0800-2100 for day shifts .
  • Four weeks annual leave plus bank holiday (pro-rata for part-time staff).

Service User Related Responsibilities:

1. Carry out duties as required under the direction of the Manager/Shift Leader.

2. To be involved in meeting each service user’s individual needs on a daily basis. This is to include transporting service users to appointments and other engagements as required by driving the Company vehicles if the worker has a driving licence.

3. To support service user’s individual priority needs, completing daily timetables as directed.

4. To facilitate the involvement of service user’s in daily household tasks, i.e. cleaning, personal laundry, shopping and preparing meals, etc.

5. Assist in providing basic care where people have a physical illness.

6. You will be expected to carry out personal care as part of the role depending on the client needs.

7. To report any client general issues/concerns to the Manager.

8. To participate in any service user’s leisure pursuits at home and within the community.

9. To act as Key-Worker (where appropriate) for identified service user(s) as designated by the Manager

10. To advocate on behalf of service users where appropriate.

11. To work flexible hours, to meet individual needs.

12. Participate in the support planning process as directed.

13. To undertake any other additional duties as reasonably required by the Company.

General Responsibilities:

1. To work in accordance with the Organisational and local Policies and Procedures.

2. Participate in maintaining the internal/external upkeep of the house.

3. Communicate relevant information clearly via appropriate channels.

4. Report any potential hazards/risks to the Manager in accordance with Health & Safety Regulations.

5. Undertake staff training as appropriate.

6. To undertake training in the Safe handling of Medication and participate in the administration of medication for service users.

7. Participate in Staff Appraisal Scheme.

8. Maintain all aspects of confidentiality with the home at all times.

9. Present a positive image to neighbours and the general public.
