Job summary

CareTech UK Ltd in Golborne is seeking a male Support Worker to provide person-centred care at St Lukes, a supported living service for people with learning disabilities and/or autism. The role centers on promoting independence, dignity and wellbeing while assisting with daily living activities.

You will follow individual support plans, participate in community activities, and maintain accurate records as part of a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Supported Living Environment is essential.
• Willingness to work towards a Health & Social Qualification.
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis.
• Driver's desirable but not essential.
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)

Location: Golborne, Wigan WA3 2PZ

Rate: £13.45 per hour

Permanent | Full-time | 37.5 to 42 hours per week

About the Service – St Lukes

St Lukes is a supported living service which provides care and support for people with learning disabilities and/or autistic spectrum disorder who enjoy a wide range of hobbies from Bowling and Swimming to Dance and Music. There is easy access to public transport and it is close to local shops.

Service User Interests

• Arts and crafts
• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local park and community
• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

You will:

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans

• Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.
