Support Worker - Llanelli

Salary: Up to £13.00 per hour
Hours: Flexible working hours

Here is your opportunity to start a career in rehabilitation support work. You do not need experience in care or support roles – we provide a full induction and specialist training and coaching. Working in brain injury rehabilitation is different from other kinds of support work. You’re there to encourage and guide individuals, helping them gain skills and confidence to live independently. You will share the journey with these inspiring people as they overcome hurdles, achieve milestones, and reach their goals. Many of the people we support only stay for three months before they are ready to move on. You can make a significant difference in that time.

We have full and part-time roles on offer.

Why join us?

Brainkind is a charity that aims to improve the lives of people with brain injuries in the UK. Our assessment centres, rehabilitation units, and hospitals use expert neurorehabilitation to support people to regain lost skills. We treat individuals with a range of brain injuries – caused by trauma, illness, substance abuse, and more – to recover and meet their personal goals.

Our employees are passionate about their work – you'll find a strong team spirit across our services and amazing colleagues who support each other.

The Role

We provide assessment and rehabilitation, ongoing support, and transitional living options to help individuals achieve greater independence. When a service user is admitted to Ty Aberdafen, they undergo an in-depth neurobehavioral assessment to determine their potential for social reintegration and independence. You’ll find huge job satisfaction seeing those you support do more for themselves and live the life they want.

If you're interested in building a career, we’re here to support you on your journey.

About you

We’re not looking for specific experience. Your personality and values are what matter. We can train and develop you into a great rehabilitation support worker if you:

  • Have genuine empathy for residents, with positivity, patience, and resilience during their rehabilitation
  • Enjoy teamwork and take pride in your work
  • Have excellent face-to-face communication skills and good literacy
  • Possess good time management skills and can prioritize your workload
Rewards

You can look forward to excellent benefits, including:

  • A competitive rate of up to £13.00 per hour
  • 33 days annual leave including bank holidays (pro-rata)
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
  • Excellent training and support
  • Group life assurance
  • Eye voucher scheme
  • Long service and staff awards
  • Free parking
  • Nationwide employee discounts on eating out and shopping
  • Blue Light Card for NHS, emergency services, social care sector, and armed forces discounts

We focus on employee wellbeing and career development, providing training and learning opportunities to help you achieve your goals.
