Job summary

Milestones Trust is seeking a friendly, outgoing individual to support adults with learning disabilities at Stepping Forward South Glos. in Warmley, Bristol. The role involves 1:1/1:2/1:3 support, helping people participate in activities and access the local community.

You will need a full UK driving licence and be prepared to use your own car for transporting the people we support. Some personal care will be part of the role, with shifts on weekdays between 8am and 7pm and flexibility to meet

• Flexible, reliable, able to work alone but also as part of a team.
• Good time-keeping is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3 support to adults with learning disabilities.
• Assist people to participate in activities and access the community.
• Assist with transporting people using personal vehicle where required.
• Possible personal care as part of the role.
• Work Monday to Friday; shifts between 8am and 7pm with flexibility.

We have a great opportunity for a fun, active person to utilise their skills to enhance the lives of the people we support, maximise their independence and develop and maintain social and life skills.

Stepping Forward South Glos. is a day opportunities service for adults with learning disabilities, based at Warmley in Bristol.

Ages range from 19 to 62 years and staff support on a 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3 ratio, getting involved in different activities and accessing the community.

We pick up and drop off the people we support from their own homes in our personal cars and access the community by public transport/cars. Some personal care will be part of the role.

It is essential that you hold a full, valid UK driving licence and can use your own vehicle to help the people we support to access the community. Please bear in mind that you will need to be covered by the relevant car insurance in order to use your vehicle for the role.

The successful applicant will have a friendly, person-centred approach, have a fun, outgoing personality and be willing to get involved in various activities. You will need to be flexible and reliable, be able to lone work but also be a team player. Good time keeping is also paramount.

We work Monday to Friday and shifts start between 8am and 9am and finish between 4pm and 7pm - to be worked flexibly to meet the needs of the people we support. Shift patterns and hours per week can be discussed at interview.
