Job summary

Penderels Trust is seeking a Personal Assistant to support a young person with special needs, accompanying them to school and promoting independence and social engagement. The role involves assisting with personal care, mobility around daily activities, and encouraging socialisation and participation in sports and leisure.

You will build a trusting one-to-one relationship, support travel to activities, and report any accidents or hazards to ensure safety at all times.

Qualifications

• DBS disclosure required prior to start of role.
• Ability to accompany and support a young person with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Support and/or prompt with personal care such as toileting, showering and dressing.
• Assist with getting to and from school, work, college and social activities.
• Encourage participation in sporting and leisure activities and socialisation.
• Promote friendships and independence while building a trusting one-to-one relationship.
• Report accidents and hazards promptly and ensure the individual's safety at all times.
