Job summary

Mencap is seeking a compassionate Part Time Support Worker in Newhaven. You’ll support individuals with learning disabilities with daily activities, both at home and in the community, helping them live as independently as possible.

Key qualities include empathy, excellent communication, flexibility for shifts, and a collaborative approach with families and professionals. DBS checks and references are required, with a non-contractual sleep-in option and a pro-rata salary package.

Job description

Mencap are seeking compassionate and passionate Part time Support Workers to join our incredible teams in Newhaven. This role is for 20 hours per week.

As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and a range of needs.

From assisting with daily activities at home and in the community, to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life supporting them to be as independent as they are able and enabling them to live the life that they choose

What we're looking for :

A genuine passion for supporting others.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, sleep ins and bank holidays.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and collaborate with colleagues, professionals, and families to ensure best possible person-centred support

Contract options :

  • Part Time 20 hrs

All our services are 24hr support. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!

Days: Between 07:00-22:00

There is also a non-contractual sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of£64.20.

All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
