Job summary

Royal Mencap Society is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join the Hatfield Woodhouse team. You will support people with learning disabilities with daily tasks, personal care, and engaging activities in a complex service setting.

A UK driving licence is required due to location, and DBS checks and references are part of the recruitment process. The role offers 37.5 hours per week with varied shifts, including evenings and weekends, and a benefits package with holiday entitlement and staff

We're looking for caring, committed individuals to support people with learning disabilities within our one of our complex services. You'll help with daily tasks, personal care, medication, and activities—making a real difference every day.

If you're passionate about empowering others and want a rewarding role, we’d love to hear from you! You must hold a UK driving licence due to location of the service.

Qualities and Skills Required:

• Relationship Building:Essential for gaining the trust of the people we support, establishing open communication, and building lasting relationships.
• Patience and Understanding:Important for navigating challenging situations effectively.
• Conflict-Resolution Techniques:Necessary for managing and resolving conflicts in a constructive manner.
• UK driving licence required.

What we're looking for:

• A genuine passion for supporting others.

• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.

Contract options :

37.5 hours

Shifts:

• Days: Varied shifts between 07:00-22:00 (rota basis, must be flexible to do sleep ins)
• Waking Nights - 22:00-08:00
• Sleep ins required on days and paid at a flat rate of £64.20
• Must be flexible to cover weekends on a rota basis

All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references
