Job Description:

Are you energetic, upbeat and have a positive attitude, patient and a desire to help others? If so, then we would love you to join our committed team of Support Workers!

At Avon Support we are currently recruiting Support Workers to join our growing team at our Day Hub in Warwick. As a support worker you will have fun each day engaging with the people we support; every day at our hub is fun packed, in the Day Hub and also in the community.

A little bit about us

At our Day Hub, no two days are the same. We have fun with the people we support, take part in cooking sessions, have discos and parties, and we also have our own coffee bar where individuals can make drinks or learn barista skills! We take part in activities such as video games, interactive screens, I.T station, arts and crafts, and much more! We also have a sensory room and a chill out zone with a movie area for time out.

We also organise various trips out of the Hub with fun activities throughout the day, playing sports and visiting local attractions. We go to concerts, bowling nights, cinemas, social events, meals out, and plenty more! All our trips and activities are discussed and decided by the individuals who use our service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and group support to individuals with learning disabilities and/or challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Understanding of Autism, ADHD and supporting individuals with additional needs.
  • Assisting with daily activities, personal care and social interaction.
  • Facilitating engaging activities and encouraging participation.
  • Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all clients.
  • Communicating effectively with clients’ families and healthcare providers.
  • Helping the people we support further develop their life skills; you will have excellent communication and people skills.

Company benefits

  • Employee wellbeing scheme (including free face-to-face counselling, helplines, and online support).
  • Employee Discount Scheme – Discounts on everyday items including shopping and fuel.
  • O.V.E (Living our Values Everyday) – rewards and recognition scheme.
  • Random Surprise Gifts of Kindness throughout the year!
  • In The Loop – Our Company Community App linking our teams and sharing experiences.
  • Company training programme and further career development opportunities.
  • Fully paid DBS.
