Routes To Work South is recruiting a compassionate Support Worker to assist young people in East Kilbride. This full-time role involves helping with daily routines, personal care where required, and enabling meaningful activities to promote independence and choice.

You will contribute to a safe, welcoming environment and work as part of a team to deliver person-centred support that enhances dignity and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people.
• Caring, compassionate and respectful.
• Patient and understanding of individual needs.
• Good communicator and team player.
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently when required.
• Committed to promoting choice, dignity and independence.
• Willing to complete required training and ongoing development.
• Previous care or support experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support that respects each individual’s dignity, rights and choices.
• Support daily living activities and personal care where required.
• Encourage independence, confidence and the development of life skills.
• Support meaningful activities, social interaction and community involvement.
• Follow individual care plans and report changes in wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with colleagues.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and infection prevention procedures.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide consistent, high-quality support.
