Join us as a Relief Support Worker. We provide support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so we can probably offer the hours that suit you.
It's similar to a zero-hour contract but without the drawbacks:
The Relief (Bank) post supports permanent rota staff by filling shifts that are vacant due to leave, training, or absences. Hours are non-specific, but your manager will try to balance service needs with your work/life balance.
Rotas are usually planned a month in advance, with additional opportunities arising from unexpected absences.
This varied role involves supporting people to attend our learning centre in Kennington, Oxfordshire, and providing one-to-one support in the community. Activities include supported employment, arts and crafts, snooker, baking, drama, music, dance, and horticulture.
You might support a group to visit Abingdon Market, play mini golf, or go swimming. Alternatively, you could take William* to work experience at a farm or a museum visit.
Some afternoons may be spent in our learning centre, which features a computer suite, accessible kitchen, sensory/games room, and a large courtyard. We also hold monthly discos for fun and socializing. We welcome new ideas and hobbies from our staff.

No experience is necessary. Many join from hospitality or retail sectors and find their skills transfer well. If you have passion and drive to make a difference, we can teach you the rest.
You can choose to work full-time, part-time, or relief, and we can discuss your preferred hours during the interview. Flexibility is desirable as activities occur during the day, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
Having a UK manual driving license is preferred, as our learners like to be on the move.
