Job summary

CareTech is recruiting a Support Worker to join our service in Llandudno, Conwy. You will deliver person-centred support to adults with mental health needs, autism and other needs, following individual support plans and assisting with daily living skills.

This permanent, full-time role is 37.5 hours per week on a rota that includes evenings, weekends and sleep-ins. Welsh speaking candidates are encouraged, and DBS is provided.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to work towards Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
  • Fluent Welsh speaking is required for some locations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans.
  • Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required.
  • Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
  • Support activities, appointments, and community access.
  • Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins.

Rate: £13.45 per hour

Permanent | Full-time | 37.5 hours per week (rota-based)

About the Service – Cwlach

Located just off the seafront, Cwlach Road is a welcoming care home that provides support for up to five individuals with a range of additional needs. The home offers a warm and engaging environment where residents are encouraged to enjoy a variety of hobbies and activities, including shopping, crafts, singing, and swimming.

Cwlach Road benefits from a convenient location with easy access to public transport, enabling residents to maintain connections with the wider community. The home is also situated close to local shops and amenities, ensuring both accessibility and opportunities for independence and social engagement.

You will be required to work across three services located within the Llandudno area, supporting individuals in a variety of settings and ensuring consistent, high-quality care.

Service User Interests

The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, social activities, Christmas markets etc.
  • Holidays and short breaks
  • Walks in the local parks, nature reserves and community
  • Cooking and baking to develop life skills
The Role

You will:

Who We’re Looking For?

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.

Requirements
  • Willingness to work towards Level 2 in Health and Social Care
  • Welsh Speaking
  • Working over multiple locations in the Llandudno area
  • Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis
  • Drivers desirable but not essential
  • Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)
