Job summary

Dimensions (UK) Ltd. is seeking a compassionate care assistant to support a woman living in her own home in Rumney, Cardiff. You will help with personal care, meals, medications, and daily activities, both at home and during outings, ensuring she feels valued and supported.

No previous experience is required; we value kindness, reliability and a genuine wish to help others live fulfilling lives. Training is provided, and DBS checks are arranged by Dimensions.

Job description

You'll provide dedicated support to a wonderful woman living in her own home in Rumney, Cardiff. This is a varied, rewarding role where you'll play an important part in helping her live the life she chooses, supporting her both at home and out enjoying the activities she loves most. You'll provide caring, hands-on support with all aspects of daily life, including personal care, medication, meal preparation, and creating a safe, comfortable, and happy home environment. You'll take the time to understand her unique way of communicating, enabling her to express her choices, preferences, and personality while ensuring she feels valued, listened to, and supported. From trips to the cinema, enjoying playing music, sensory activities, meals out, and even holidays, you'll be actively involved in helping her make the most of every opportunity. She enjoys being out and about, so we're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, energetic, and keen to get involved. For longer outings, she may use a wheelchair, so you'll be comfortable providing practical support when needed. This role includes short days, long day shifts, sleep-ins, and alternate weekends, with shifts starting from 8am. Being calm, adaptable, and able to use your initiative will help you thrive in this role. Basic IT skills are required, as you'll use digital systems to complete training and record support notes.
