Job summary

Bield Housing & Care in Dundee is hiring a Full-Time Support Worker to cover Rockwell Gardens, Bonnethill Gardens and Balgowan Court. You will assist service users with daily tasks, promote independence and create a warm, supportive home environment.

This role offers comprehensive training, a 35-hour week across 5 days, and opportunities to develop in care. You will work closely with a compassionate team and be supported to gain SVQ2 and SSSC registration within six months.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work on a lone-working basis.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • SVQ2 in Health and Social Care or willingness to undertake.
  • Commitment to obtaining SSSC registration within 6 months.

Hours of employment

35 hours - 5 days out of 7

The Role

In your role as Support Worker, you will provide care and support to individuals in their own homes including:

  • Assisting with household tasks
  • Assisting and supporting with personal care, including intimate personal care
  • Medication prompting/administering

About You

You will:

  • Have good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Have the ability and initiative to work on a lone working basis
  • Have good time keeping, time management and organisational skills
  • Hold an SVQ2 in Health and Social Care, or have the ability and willingness to undertake this qualification
  • Be required to obtain registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up the post
