Job summary

Autism Initiatives is seeking a dedicated Support Worker (driver required) to help autistic individuals live more independently and participate in daily activities. You will support home routines, promote health and wellbeing, and assist with community activities such as swimming and cinema trips.

The role includes comprehensive training and progression opportunities, a company-paid enhanced DBS, and a generous leave package. A valid UK driving licence is required; sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

  • Experience in supporting autistic people is helpful but training is provided.
  • Good communication and empathy are valued in a care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals to be as independent as possible in daily activities.
  • Promote health and wellbeing and support people to maintain their home.
  • Assist with community activities and outings (swimming, walking groups, cinema).
  • Build on individuals' strengths and goals to deliver flexible, person-centred support.

Who we are looking for:

As a Support Worker, we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and will enjoy joining a dynamic team that encourages people with autism to enjoy an active lifestyle. Community activities could include swimming, accessing walking groups or trips to the cinema. You will also promote health and well-being and support individuals to maintain their home. The support we deliver is flexible and unique to each individual, building on their strengths and driven by their goals.

We are looking for people who share and demonstrate our values. You may have a background or understanding of supporting autistic people, but if not don’t worry, we have great training and a friendly team to support you every step of the way.
