Job summary

Orwell Housing Association is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for the Domestic Abuse Service. The role involves working across dispersed safe accommodation and community services to provide trauma-informed, person-centred support that helps individuals and families build safer futures.

You will develop personalised safety plans, offer practical and emotional assistance, conduct risk assessments, and collaborate with partner agencies to ensure coordinated care and strong safeguarding practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in providing trauma-informed support.
• Ability to work with safeguarding and risk.
• Full driving licence essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop personalised safety and support plans focusing on strengths, recovery, independence and wellbeing.
• Provide practical and emotional support to individuals and families to help decision-making and confidence.
• Carry out risk assessments, safety planning, referrals and safeguarding activities per policy.
• Collaborate with partner agencies to deliver coordinated, holistic support.
• Build and maintain strong community relationships to improve customer outcomes.
• Empower customers to access education, training, volunteering, employment and community resources.
• Advocate for customers, ensuring their voices are heard.
