BRC is recruiting a Support Worker to assist adults experiencing homelessness in a Criminal Justice context. The role involves practical and emotional support for individuals with complex needs, including mental health, substance misuse, trauma and licence conditions related to custody outcomes.

Based from the Taunton office, you will travel across Somerset to provide person-centred support, develop tailored plans, and collaborate with Probation and Police to reduce re-offending and homelessness

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vulnerable adults and/or people with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
• Experience working within housing, homelessness or criminal justice settings is advantageous.
• Confident working with external agencies and multi-disciplinary professionals.
• Good understanding of safeguarding, risk management and person-centred support.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for business use.
• Business insurance will be required due to regular travel across Somerset.

Responsabilités

• Manage referrals and complete needs and risk assessments.

• Support clients to maintain accommodation and develop independent living skills.
• Provide advice around benefits, budgeting, and accessing services.
• Work with Probation, Police and other external agencies for multi-agency support.
• Ensure clients understand rights, responsibilities and licence conditions when moving into accommodation.
• Maintain accurate records and assist with monitoring and reporting.
• Support clients to make positive changes and reduce homelessness or offending risk.
• Participate in an on-call rota (out-of-hours).

Salary: £20,960 per annum (FTE £26,200)

Hours: 30 hours per week

Job Overview:

We are currently recruiting for a Support Worker to join a Criminal Justice service supporting adults who have experienced homelessness and are leaving prison.

The role involves providing practical and emotional support to clients with a range of complex needs, including mental health, substance misuse, trauma, domestic abuse and ongoing involvement with the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage referrals and complete needs and risk assessments.
• Develop and deliver personalised support plans based on individual needs.
• Support clients to maintain their accommodation and develop the skills needed for independent living.
• Provide advice and guidance around benefits, budgeting, accessing services and accommodation.
• Work closely with Probation, Police and other external agencies to provide effective multi-agency support.
• Ensure clients understand their rights, responsibilities and licence conditions when moving into accommodation.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring and reporting requirements.
• Support clients to make positive changes and reduce the risk of repeat homelessness or offending.
• Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.

About You:
