Job summary

Portsmouth City Council is hiring for a role providing a mix of domestic, kitchen and laundry tasks in residents' homes. The post supports breakfast service, meal prep alongside the cook, and maintaining high kitchen hygiene standards.

You will join a team committed to dignity and care, with mandatory training including Level 2 Food Hygiene and safeguarding. A flexible approach and basic IT skills are helpful, with full training provided.

Qualifications

• Preferably prior ancillary work in a residential setting or cleaning/kitchen/laundry service.
• Willing to undertake mandatory and non-mandatory training including Level 2 food hygiene awareness and safeguarding awareness.
• Basic IT knowledge to access information and complete E-learning with support.

Responsibilities

• Provide a mix of domestic, kitchen, laundry and general tasks within the home.
• Support meals service and assist cook with meal preparation to high standards; maintain hygiene in kitchen areas.
• Clean/refrigerators/freezers and monitor temperatures; carry out general kitchen tasks as required.
• Complete laundry processes, handle soiled items per infection control policy; wash/iron curtains as needed.
• May perform light repairs and deliver laundry to residents' rooms.
