About The Role

We are looking for Children's Support Workers/Carers who care about making every moment matter for the children and young people we support.

Job title: Children's Support Workers/Carers For Children With Complex Clinical Needs.

Location:Warrington (WA2 post code)

Hours:Full-time, shifts cover: Long day: 7.30am – 8.00pm, Night: 7.30pm – 8.00am, Early: 7.30am – 2.30pm, Late: 2.00pm – 8.00pm.

About you

Are you enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to supporting children and young people to ensure that every moment matters?

To be successful in the Support Worker role, you will not necessarily need experience in complex health support as all staff undergo a training programme overseen by a paediatric nurse trainer and will be continuously supported by the management team. Ideally, you will:

  • Hold or be willing to work towards a Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Have previous experience of supporting children and young people with learning disabilities / complex medical needs

The Role

Provide a high standard of support that enables our children and young people to be as independent as they can, learn and develop through education and experience, stay healthy and most importantly, have a fun, fulfilling life.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing practical assistance and emotional support to empower our young people to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents.
  • Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people supported and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
  • Facilitating social, educational and play or recreational activities of their choice. Supporting them to maintain contact with families or significant others is a key priority.
  • The role requires you to undertake all aspects of day to day household tasks such as cleaning, cooking and shopping. Our young people also need to be supported to manage their personal care and hygiene.

About The Service

We provide support to children aged 0 - 17 years with complex medical needs ranging from epilepsy, gastrostomy care, tracheostomy care, ventilator dependency, learning disability, communication and mobility support needs.

The residential house is well-equipped with 6 bedrooms that are all decorated to the taste of the child or young person that lives there. There is also a sensory room and large garden area to be used.
