Job summary

Bluebird Care Canterbury & Thanet is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant to support clients in Canterbury, Whitstable and Herne Bay. You will provide personalised care at home, helping with daily activities, personal care, meals, medication and light housekeeping. Training is provided to ensure high standards of care and safety.

You will join a friendly team, with flexible shifts and generous mileage reimbursement, working to maintain independence and dignity for clients in their own homes.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Compassionate, calm approach to care.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to follow care plans.
• Previous care experience helpful but not required due to full training.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care tailored to each person’s individual needs.
• Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming).
• Help with meal prepping, preparation and nutrition.
• Support with medication, prescriptions and safe disposal.
• Carry out light housework like tidying, laundry and general cleaning.
• Be a dependable friendly, familiar face for all the customers you care for.
