About The Role

We are looking for Support Workers/Carers who care about making every moment matter for the people we support in our supported living service.

Position: Full-Time Support Worker/Carers

Location: Hull (HU8 postcode). You may also be required to work in Hessle (HU13), Holderness (HU8), Juniper (HU3) and community services (HU8) on Bransholme.

Hours: The shift patterns will vary with the needs of the individuals we will be supporting, anything from a 7am start and finishing at 10pm as an average, but there is flexibility on these hours. 12-hour contracts are a minimum for part-time staff, with 40-48 hours per week on a full-time contract. This role will include weekend working.

About You

Are you enthusiastic, compassionate, and committed to supporting people in a way that respects their dignity?

You will need to be adaptable, flexible, with excellent communication skills and able to work as part of our team. Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience supporting people with learning disabilities
• Hold or be willing to work towards your Level 2 in Health & Social Care
• Previous experience with hoist is desirable
• 2 years minimum experience working within care
• Ideally must hold a valid driver's license

The Role

• To provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.
• Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural, and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
• Facilitating social, educational, or work activities such as visiting family and friends, walks, shopping, and other recreational activities of their choice.
• General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as elements of personal care.
• As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents.
