Job summary

Real Life Options is seeking a Support Worker in York to assist two gentlemen with learning disabilities and autism. The role involves helping with daily living skills, personal care and community access, working 26 hours per week at £12.71 per hour.

You will join a friendly team at Paddock Way, Acomb, with full induction, accredited training and ongoing development opportunities. Relief shifts are also available and a DBS check is required.

• Administer and record medication as required
• Promote choice, dignity and person-centred support at all times
• Complete daily records and support documentation
• Work both as part of a team and independently during lone-working shifts

At Paddock Way, we currently support two gentlemen with different needs, providing personalised support that promotes independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will:

• Support people to develop daily living skills and increase their independence
• Assist with cooking, budgeting and maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment
• Provide personal care and support with eating and drinking where required
• Support people to access activities, hobbies and opportunities within their local community
• Assist with managing finances and attending health appointments

Shift Details

This is a 26-hour per week position, with additional relief opportunities available.

Shifts vary in length and may include:

• Days
• Evenings
• Long day shifts of up to 12 hours
• Weekends
• Waking nights
• Bank holidays

Flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the people we support.

Experience & Training
