Job summary

Rehability UK Support Services Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist adults aged 19-60 with learning disabilities and mental health needs. You will help with daily activities, personal care, community outings, and appointments, providing compassionate, person-centered support.

A valid driving license is preferred; sponsorship is not offered. Training is provided and opportunities for progression exist within our expanding healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with complex needs, or Mental Health, Autism or Learning Disability, as per service requirement.
• Male or Female as per service requirement, and ideally a driver
• Willingness to learn
• Flexible
• Good communication skills to support individuals with diverse needs

Responsibilities

• Help people we support to engage in meaningful opportunities and activities.
• Provide support in the community, such as social activities or shopping trips.
• Communicate effectively according to individual communication needs.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene if required.
• Medication administration if required (where trained).
• Support with preparing and cooking meals, cleaning, shopping, and planning daily activities.
• Attend medical appointments with the person supported.
• Support with social activities and community participation

Your Role

Our Support Workers are our greatest asset. By understanding the needs of people you support, you’ll provide exceptional care that can change their lives. Your role will involve, however, not limited to:

• Helping people we support to engage in meaningful opportunities and activities – empowering them to enjoy a great life filled with unforgettable experiences.
• Getting involved in support in the community as social activities or shopping trips.
• Ability to communicate is essential, considering individual communication needs, and helping people communicate effectively with others.
• Assisting with Personal care and hygiene (if required)
• Medication administration (if required)
• Support with preparing and cooking meals. Cleaning, shopping, planning daily activities
• Support with attending medical appointments
• Support with social activities

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
