Job summary

Voyage Care in Southampton is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to provide person-centred support to adults in daily living activities within home and community settings.

You will work varied shifts, including early and sleep-in duties, with DBS checks required. A full UK manual driving licence is desirable; generous benefits and progression opportunities are offered.

Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred support with daily living activities.
  • Assist with moving and handling and personal care.
  • Administer medications and assist with meal preparation.
  • Support household tasks and attend medical appointments.
  • Lead key worker sessions and organise leisure activities.
  • Participate in house and team meetings and provide mealtime/community support.

Support Worker – Southampton - £13.11ph

Typical Shifts are: 7:30am - 9:30pm / 7:30am - 2:30pm / 2:30pm - 9:30pm including some sleep-in shifts.

In this role, you will provide person-centred support with a range of daily living activities, including moving and handling, personal care, medication administration, meal preparation, household tasks, attending medical appointments, key worker sessions, leisure activities, and participation in house and team meetings. A significant aspect of the role involves providing both one-to-one and two-to-one support during mealtimes and while accessing the local community.

We're seeking a compassionate and resilient individual who is confident working independently and committed to delivering high-quality support. You will be comfortable supporting adults who may display verbal or physical behaviours that challenge, and will be able to adapt your communication approach to meet individual needs, including supporting people who are non-verbal.

You will also play an active role in maintaining health and safety within the home. Sleep-in shifts are a requirement of this role and a full UK manual driving licence is highly desirable.
