We strive to build a stable and welcoming environment where our young people are central to everything we do.

You will be a dedicated person who thrives on making a difference in the lives of others and wants to develop your skills and knowledge in the children's home sector.

Do you have what it takes to encourage and help our children to live independently, guiding and teaching them with your own life experiences? To do this, we believe you will need empathy, compassion, resilience, and positive parenting skills.

The working day can be very unpredictable. You might spend the morning organizing activities and the afternoon providing 1:1 support.

Cambian employees are friendly, supportive, and focused on achieving the best outcomes for everyone involved with our brand.

We offer an extremely competitive package:

  • In addition to a £1000 Refer a Friend Scheme, we offer:

Rate of Pay: £12.69-£13.31 per hour depending on experience, with an additional sleep-in rate of £30.00.
Training and Development Plans to meet your individual needs, including NVQs and career progression opportunities.
28 Days Holiday inclusive of Bank Holidays, increasing with service.
Paid Sickness Leave.
Additional rates for Overtime, On-Call, Sleep-in, and Disturbance.
Casual Dress Code.
Company Pension.
Simply Health (linked to service).
Days out and activity days off-site.
We have our own Management Development Programme to support career advancement from Support Worker to Registered Manager and beyond.

As a Children’s Residential Care Worker, you will be involved in all aspects of the children’s daily lives. Your positive impact will be immeasurable. You will need to be emotionally strong, driven to make a difference daily, and understanding of our children’s backgrounds, ensuring their needs are central to everything we do. You will be approachable, detail-oriented, and committed to ensuring children’s safety and adherence to protocols and regulations.

Shift Pattern: 16-24 Hour shifts (including Sleep-ins) on a one-on-two or two-on-four basis.

Here’s what a typical day might look like:

  • Delivering high-quality care for children aged 8-18 with behavioral and emotional needs.
  • Offering guidance, support, and structure.
  • Supporting engagement with education.
  • Promoting healthy lifestyles and positive living choices.
  • Accessing clinically led training to improve skills and practice.
  • Household duties, record keeping, report writing.
  • Organizing days out, attending meetings, and providing transport.

Requirements:

  • Desirable but not essential: Full UK Driving Licence, NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare, experience in therapeutic environments, educational support, leadership skills, and higher qualifications.

We are proud of our dedicated individuals who pursue the highest standards for children and each other. Our commitment includes comprehensive inductions, training, and ongoing support from our Learning & Development Team.

We look for applicants who demonstrate positivity, innovation, friendliness, empowerment, person-centeredness, and enthusiasm—values that underpin our decision-making and actions. If you can demonstrate these qualities, we will support your growth into roles such as Support Worker, Team Leader, Deputy Manager, and beyond.

Cambian is committed to safeguarding and the welfare of children. All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check, provide two references from the past two years, and disclose employment details related to working with children or vulnerable individuals, including full-time education history.
