Maternity Support Worker Practice Educator

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals for a passionate, innovative Maternity Support Worker to assist with the coordination of training, educational, and clinical support for our Maternity Support Workers (MSW) and Apprentice MSW's.

I

Work under the direction and guidance of the Midwifery Team.

Facilitate and deliver training programmes across various learning environments, including ward-based settings, classrooms, and simulation suites, using diverse teaching methods.

Support Practice Assessors and Supervisors in guiding apprentices and learners within the clinical environment, under the supervision of Practice Educators.

Provide learners and trainees with guidance and support to help them engage in experiences that align with their professional frameworks or portfolios.

Work alongside learners and new starters to build their clinical confidence and competence.

Support non-registered staff in completing competency documents and fulfilling rotation requirements.

Provide pastoral care to learners and new starters within the clinical environment.

Effectively manage and prioritise workload, working independently within your scope of practice and escalating concerns when necessary.

Contribute to the design, delivery, and evaluation of educational sessions to support continuous improvement.

Assist with recruitment and retention initiatives for the non-registered workforce.

Support the coordination and delivery of clinical skills training for trainees.

Providing ‘in situ’ clinical support to appropriate staff groups to assist in achieving competencies and developing confidence in their roles.

Provide Pastoral support to registered and non-registered learners to ensure wellbeing is supported.
