Job description

At Paragon Social Care we support vulnerable and challenging children and young people who are looked after by the council, who find themselves between longer term placements. We step in during these critical times of transition and supply wrap around 24/7 packages of support until a more suitable longer-term placement is found. Our support packages start at a staffing ratio of 2:1 up to a maximum of 6:1 depending on the individual needs of each young person.

Our support packages can be anywhere in the UK, so we are looking for support workers who are highly flexible in their working life. This means you should be able to travel to various parts of the country and stay there for a few days at a time. This job therefore suits those who don't have large commitments at home.

We are looking for support workers who have previous experience of working with challenging children and young people. However, we also provide all relevant training during your onboarding stage free of charge. If you don't have previous experience but have the qualities in a person that are vital to succeed in this role then we also welcome your application.

Those qualities we are looking for in a person are:

  • An engaging personality that connects with young people on their level
  • Professionalism and Dedication

We offer excellent rates of pay which is paid on a weekly basis.

The main roles of the job are as follows:

  • Keeping the young person safe
  • Engaging with the young person on an emotional level
  • Ensuring the young person sees to their personal care
  • Taking the young person out on activities and fun days out
  • Taking the young person to meetings, school, appointments etc
  • Cooking for the young person
  • Keeping the home clean and tidy

At Paragon Social Care, Safeguarding Children is our Number 1 priority. We strive to create a safe and nurturing environment where each child can flourish. Our support is underpinned by the Trauma Informed and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) frameworks.

If this sounds interesting to you then please apply if you meet the following criteria:

  • You are highly flexible in your working life
  • You are a car driver and will obtain Motor Vehicle Insurance
  • Your DBS is clear
  • You have an engaging and warm personality
  • You have full Right To Work status to work in the UK
  • You are highly professional and dedicated to your work
