Job summary

CareTech Community Services is recruiting for a Support Worker to provide person-centred support in Cornwall, covering Hayle, Redruth and surrounding areas. You will assist with daily living tasks, promote independence, and help people access community activities in their own homes.

The role involves rota shifts including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins. Full training is provided, and DBS is required. We value kindness, reliability and clear communication in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis.
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)

About the Service - Cornwall Supported Living

Cornwall Supported Living covering Hayle, Redruth and Cambourne. We support Adults aged 18+ with Learning Disability, Physical disability, Epilepsy and Adults on the Spectrum to live as independently as possible in their own homes, providing structured, consistent support tailored to each individual. Person centred care is very important to us at Cornwall Supported Living.

As a team, we focus on the abilities of the people we support and promote learning of new skills, thereby promoting independence and an improved quality of life. We have an open culture where staff feel safe to challenge bad practise, learn from mistakes, share knowledge and lessons learnt. The people we support are involved in the day-to-day running of their home.

Service User Interests

The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including:

• Swimming
• Bowling
• Meals out in restaurant of choice
• Shopping
• Cinema
• Bus ride or walks
• ... and lots more

The Role

You will:

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.

No previous experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we'll provide full training and a structured induction programme.
