Job description

Hourly Rate: £12.70 (£12.30 base rate +40p complex service rate)
Overtime Rate: +£2
Hours: 25hrs per week – some hours on a rolling Rota and other hours to cover
Location: Plymouth

About the Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful and forward-thinking person to support individual in her own home.

She likes to be busy and active, enjoys social opportunities and opportunities to interact with others. She has an infectious personality and is a pleasure to be around. She has a severe Learning Disability and other health conditions. She may display behaviours of concern at times.

The aim of the job role would be to work as part of the wider team, role modelling outstanding care and support needs for the individual, promoting the individual’s independence, and maintaining and promoting life skills, as well as supporting their health and well-being needs and requirements.

You will be resilient with a positive outlook and have an upbeat approach to supporting people. You will be a great planner, organiser and motivator to support individuals with access to achieve an outcome focused support plan. You will be a great role model and be able to connect through great communication and drive towards accessing the community.

Applicants with experience of Learning Disabilities and complex needs is preferred but not essential. Previous experience of supporting people with complex needs in supported living would be an advantage.

*For occupational requirement reasons we are looking to appoint a female only for this post (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9).

The rest of the hours are made up as cover hours within our Plymouth services.

  • Wednesday 3pm - 10pm & sleep-in
  • Thursday 7am – 9.30am

Week 2:

  • Friday 3pm - 10pm
  • Saturday 8am - 10pm
