Are you an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant with a background in supporting children with physical disabilities and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs?
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Gorton (M18) is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a KS2 pupil with cerebral palsy from September 2025 until April 2026. This is a highly rewarding, full-time role for someone who wants to make a meaningful difference in a child's education and well-being.
Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with cerebral palsy, assisting with mobility, personal care, and access to learning
Offer emotional and behavioural support to help the pupil regulate and engage positively in class
Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver a tailored learning experience
Help create a nurturing, consistent, and encouraging environment for the child to thrive
Previous experience supporting children with cerebral palsy or similar physical disabilities
Strong understanding of SEMH strategies and approaches
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow support plans
Moving and handling or medical care training (desirable, but training can be provided)
Full-time role, term-time only
Competitive weekly pay via PAYE
Ongoing support from a specialist consultant
Access to relevant CPD, including medical and behaviour training
