1:1 Teaching Assistant Opportunity - Support a Pupil with Cerebral Palsy & SEMH Needs | Gorton | September 2025 - April 2026

Are you an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant with a background in supporting children with physical disabilities and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs?

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Gorton (M18) is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a KS2 pupil with cerebral palsy from September 2025 until April 2026. This is a highly rewarding, full-time role for someone who wants to make a meaningful difference in a child's education and well-being.

  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with cerebral palsy, assisting with mobility, personal care, and access to learning

  • Offer emotional and behavioural support to help the pupil regulate and engage positively in class

  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver a tailored learning experience

  • Help create a nurturing, consistent, and encouraging environment for the child to thrive

  • Previous experience supporting children with cerebral palsy or similar physical disabilities

  • Strong understanding of SEMH strategies and approaches

  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow support plans

  • Moving and handling or medical care training (desirable, but training can be provided)

  • Full-time role, term-time only

  • Competitive weekly pay via PAYE

  • Access to relevant CPD, including medical and behaviour training
