This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated experienced Maternity Support Worker to support the community midwives based at Oxford Road Campus. The post involves assisting the midwives caring for women and birthing people during the antenatal and postnatal period with supervision from the midwives. You will be required to support parents to care for and feed their babies, also undertaking parent education.
You will be required to perform blood tests and observations on both mothers and babies.
You will also be expected to support the Midwives with administration eg: ordering blood tests and booking appointments.The role will also include cleaning and maintaining the environment , restocking equipment, utilising IT systems and support families in the community setting with a focus being on public health promotion.You will have excellent interpersonal skills as you will be communicating with women on the phone and working closely with the women and their families in their homes.
Candidates should expect to work shifts to cover days, weekends and public holidays. The Roster is planned to ensure fairness and to accommodate family commitments whenever possible.
