Job summary

Cygnet Healthcare is seeking a Support Worker for Long Eaton Day Service. The role is 40 hours per week with 8 hour day shifts, Monday to Friday, at Long Eaton Day Service which supports individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs.

The successful candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in a learning disabilities setting, and be a caring, communicative team player who empowers service users in a safe, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience of 1 year+ in a support setting with learning disabilities.
• Caring and understanding with energy to provide a stimulating environment.
• Excellent communicator and a good team player.
• Passionate about empowering and supporting service user independence.

Responsibilities

• Offer enhanced care with a flexible learning approach for all the people in our care.
• Provide guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support.
• Learn about individuals’ specific needs and provide help in the most appropriate way.
• Assist with medical and welfare needs.
• Report on medical and welfare needs as required.
• Safeguard all patients.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment for all.

You’ll be working 40 hours a week, 8 hour day shifts Monday-Friday only, making a positive difference to the lives of the people in our care at Long Eaton Day Service. Long Eaton Day Services specialises in supporting individuals with a primary diagnosis of a learning disability, in addition to those with complex health needs, physical disabilities and those with autism. We have a long history of enhancing the quality of life of the individuals who attend the service.
