Job summary

The Camden Society in Hemel Hempstead is hiring a part-time Support Worker on a permanent basis with relief hours available. You’ll provide compassionate support to adults with learning disabilities and help them achieve personal goals.

No prior qualifications are required as full training is provided, with a guaranteed monthly salary via Annualised Hours and a range of benefits including flexible hours and a contributory pension.

The Camden Society has an exciting opportunity available for a Support Worker to join our team based in Hemel Hempstead. You will join us on a permanent basis with part-time, and relief hours available. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £13.00 per hour.

About the Support Worker role

As a valued Support Worker with The Camden Society, you will be part of an inclusive team supporting adults with a learning disability. You will help create innovative ways to support individuals achieve their own personal goals, aims and ambitions. The support you provide will change with everyone you work with because everyone is different.

Responsibilities
  • Help someone develop new skills.
  • Provide personal and emotional support.
  • Assist in planning and managing a person’s own home.
  • Support with leisure, employment, individual interests and travel.
  • Work with people in their own home or out and about in their community.
  • Handle a varied, fun, rewarding, sometimes challenging and demanding role.
Qualifications
  • No previous experience or qualifications required – full training will be provided.
  • Compassionate, caring, confident and resilient.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self‑starter, with a high level of motivation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident, articulate and professional.
  • Keenness to learn in a fast‑paced environment and creatively solve problems.
