Job summary

CareTech Cornwall Supported Living is recruiting for caring, patient individuals to provide person-centred support to adults with disabilities across Hayle, Redruth and Cambourne. You will assist with daily living, promote independence and wellbeing, and help people access community activities.

A full induction and ongoing training are provided, with DBS paid for by CareTech. Applicants should be reliable, able to work unsociable hours on a rota, and possess good communication and written

• Good communication skills and patience.
• Basic IT literacy and ability to write clear notes.
• Willingness to learn and follow structured induction.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans.
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required.
• Promote independence, dignity and wellbeing.
• Support activities, appointments, and community access.
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team.
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins.

About the Service – Cornwall Supported Living

Cornwall Supported Living covering Hayle, Redruth and Cambourne. We support Adults aged 18+ with Learning Disability, Physical disability, Epilepsy and Adults on the Spectrum to live as independently as possible in their own homes, providing structured, consistent support tailored to each individual. Person centred care is very important to us at Cornwall Supported Living.

As a team, we focus on the abilities of the people we support and promote learning of new skills, thereby promoting independence and an improved quality of life. We have an open culture where staff feel safe to challenge bad practise, learn from mistakes, share knowledge and lessons learnt. The people we support are involved in the day-to-day running of their home.

Service User Interests

The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including:

• Swimming
• Bowling
• Meals out in restaurant of choice
• Shopping
• Cinema
• Bus ride or walks
• …and lots more

The Role

You will:

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.

No previous experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we’ll provide full training and a structured induction programme.

Requirements

• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)
