Job summary

CareTech is recruiting a Support Worker for our Fareham service in Hampshire. You will provide person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs, delivering care that promotes independence and wellbeing.

The role operates on a permanent, full-time basis (37.5 hours per week) with a rota that includes evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins. Full training is provided and DBS is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, service users and families.
• Willingness to work as part of a team and independently when required.
• Basic IT literacy and written communication.
• Flexible and reliable to cover rota-based shifts.
• Commitment to learning and achieving Level 2 Health and Social Care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans.
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required.
• Promote independence, dignity and wellbeing for service users.
• Support activities, appointments and community access.
• Maintain accurate records and work as part of a team.

Rate: £12.71 per hour

Permanent | Full-time | 37.5 hours per week (rota-based)

About the Service - Park Lane

Park Lane is a five bedded residential care home, located on the outskirts of Fareham, a market town at the northwest tip of Portsmouth Harbour, between the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton in south east Hampshire.

The town can be accessed by rail or road links via the M27 and A27. Fareham is a modern and thriving town, offering a gateway to a wealth of social, vocational and educational opportunities.

Park Lane supports men and women with complex or enduring mental health disorders who have
demonstrated the ability to gain further independence and functionality in a community setting.

The Role

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.

No previous experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we’ll provide full training and a structured induction programme.

Requirements

• Willingness to work towards Level 2 in Health and Social Care
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis
• Drivers is desired but not essential
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)
