Job summary

Lifeways is opening a brand-new one-person supported living service in Winlaton and seeks compassionate, positive individuals to join the new support team. You will help a person with learning disabilities, autism and behavioural support needs live independently at home, providing reassurance, encouragement and consistency.

As part of the team, you will support daily living tasks, promote independence, and help create a calm, safe environment where the person can thrive.

Qualifications

• Caring, patient and dedicated attitude.
• Willingness to work with a person with learning disabilities.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support with daily living tasks including cooking, cleaning, personal care and maintaining a comfortable home environment.
• Promote independence and help the person achieve personal goals.
• Provide positive behavioural support and reassurance when needed.
• Encourage participation in hobbies, activities and community opportunities.
• Build a trusting and meaningful relationship to help them feel safe, valued and empowered.

Get to Know the Person You’ll Be Supporting

• Colouring and creative activities
• Completing jigsaws
• Listening to music and dancing
• Yoga, meditation, and other calming activities
• Going out for drives and exploring the local area

As they do not use public transport, a full UK driving licence is essential for this role.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting with daily living tasks, including cooking, cleaning, personal care, and maintaining a comfortable home environment
