Job summary

CareTech is hiring a Support Worker to assist children and young people in a nurturing residential setting. You will help with daily routines, meals, and activities, while building trusting relationships and providing emotional support.

No prior care experience is required; transferable skills from retail, hospitality, education, sports coaching or community roles are welcomed. Comprehensive induction and ongoing specialist training are provided.

• Support young people with daily routines, school preparation, meals and activities.
• Create a warm, homely environment with light housekeeping.

• Plan and take part in activities such as outdoor trips and creative sessions.
• Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care.
• Use electronic care recording systems daily; training provided, with Clearcare as a bonus.

What You’ll Do

• As a Support Worker, you will support young people with their daily routines; getting them ready for school, preparing meals and planning activities
• Create a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping
• Build positive relationships and provide emotional support
• Plan and take part in activities such as outdoor trips and creative sessions
• Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care
• Use electronic care recording systems on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately. Experience with Clearcare is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided.
