Job summary

Lifeways is hiring carers to support people with complex emotional and behavioural needs to live as independently as possible within their homes and local communities.

The role involves helping clients access community activities, supporting daily living tasks, and providing emotional support while promoting dignity and independence. Training and development are provided, with shift patterns including weekends.

  • Assist with personal care when required, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
  • Promote choice, dignity and person-centred support at all times.

About the Service

Emery Court provides supported living accommodation in a welcoming community setting, including apartments and bungalows designed to promote independence whilst ensuring people have access to support when they need it.

The service benefits from modern assistive technology, communal outdoor space, and a strong network of staff and friendships, creating a safe and encouraging environment where people can thrive.

What Will You Be Doing?

You’ll support people with complex emotional and behavioural needs to live as independently as possible, both at home and within their local community.

Your role may include:

  • Supporting people to access community activities such as swimming, shopping, cafés, cinemas, museums, and social clubs.
  • Encouraging independence and helping people achieve personal goals.
  • Providing emotional support and building positive relationships.
  • Supporting with daily living tasks including cooking, cleaning, laundry, and household management.
  • Assisting with personal care when required, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
  • Promoting choice, dignity, and person-centred support at all times.

Hours Available
  • Full Time
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Part Time
  • 12 to 30 hours per week
  • Bank / Sessional
  • Flexible hours to fit around your lifestyle
  • Shift patterns operate on a rota basis and include some weekend working.
